Jay Anderson, a talented singer, dancer, and performer hailing from Washington, DC, embarked on his professional career at a remarkably young age, participating in musicals across the East Coast. 

 

He earned a full scholarship to St. Mary’s Ballet, where he eventually joined the professional company. Following this, he attended George Mason University on a dance scholarship. During his time in college, Jaymez had the opportunity to perform with esteemed choreographers such as Mark Morris, Doug Varone, and Susan Shields. 

 

Post-graduation, Jaymez toured extensively, showcasing his talents with professional theaters, ballet, and modern dance companies in West Virginia, New York, Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia. Notably, he performed in the opening and closing shows at Busch Gardens Europe for four years, where he took on the roles of dance and vocal swing. In addition to performing, Jaymez has also contributed his choreographic skills to various professional dance companies across the United States.

 

Before relocating to the U.K., Jaymez served as Cast Manager for Carnival Cruise Line while continuing to perform. He began his journey with the cruise line as a dancer in their Vegas-style shows and was later invited to help launch the new "Playlist Productions" as a dancer and singer, working with several choreographers, including Paul Roberts. Over time, he transitioned into the role of lead singer for multiple contracts.

 

Since his arrival in the U.K., Jaymez has been fortunate to appear in numerous commercials, plays, musicals, and tours, including "Midnight Train to Georgia - A Gladys Knight Tribute." He was also part of the U.K. revival of "Kinky Boots," where he portrayed an Angel and served as the first cover for Lola at the New Wolsey Theatre and Queens Theatre. Recently, he was featured in the International Tour and West End production of "Bat Out of Hell" as Odessasuite/Ensemble and the first cover for Jagwire.

 

Currently, audiences can enjoy Jaymez's performance in the U.K. International Tour of "The Book of Mormon."
